It has been two weeks since Mr. Tucker was born and we are still hanging in the hotel room. We are waiting on signatures at this point. Although we are frustrated at how slowly things are moving we really have nothing to complain about since we are together again as a little family.
Tucker, Scott and I have been together since Saturday. We have been eating, some sleeping, and staring at each other for 5 straight days! It is amazing how you make things work when you are waiting to go home. O'Mimi (Tucker's grandma Sharon) spent days driving to and from Walgreens making sure we had the things we needed to make it work. The outfits that fit him the best are these 3 nightgowns that have closed feet...we do laundry almost every day. :) We turned the kitchen table into a changing table, the couch is where we have his cloths and blankets stacked everywhere and his portable crib fits right between Scott and I on the bed (cool thing his aunt Lizzy found him). The small kitchenette has never been more "baby", there are bottles and formula everywhere.
The hotel we are staying at deserves a nod too. This Marriott has been wonderful to us. They know us by names and the manager calls a couple times a week to see if we need anything special. They have a wall of baby pictures in her office of babies that have stayed here while their adoption was finalized and Tucker's pic will be added today. The hotel staff calls every morning to ask if we need more towels so they do not knock on the door to wake the baby. :) They have been wonderful...I would definitely recommend them to anyone. And all the points we are racking up will pay for our trip to Disneyland for Tucker's one year birthday next November!
Our only complaint at this time is with our Verizon cell phones. Don't get us wrong we love Verizon however they don't exist in West Virginia so we are limited as to how much we can use them. We can call, we only receive our phone calls sometimes and text but we are not able to send pics or video. I worry that many people thought we have not been communicating enough and the last thing we want is to shut off Tucker from friends and family...thus we started this blog. :) When we get home and can download the pics/video from our cell phone I am sure we will have plenty to add to the blog. How did our parents do this without this world of technology we live in today! I don't know what we would do without our video camera and laptops. :)
One small blessing, if you can see by the pic above, Tucker has no idea he has been cooped up in a hotel room. To him our house is going to feel HUGE!
