Tucker Tuesdays: television

Scott and I feel very strongly about television. Mainly because we see a difference in Tuck based on what his activities are (and cause Scott read somewhere that it leads to autism, not that we have any facts on that one). When he is watching TV he is not interactive, doesn't smile, barely talks and we can't get him to look at anything else...kind of like he is in a trance or something. When he is not watching TV he is so playful, fun, talkative, and he even giggles. So, we don't let him watch TV (mostly).

I have a good friend Lizzie who told us her 9 month old loves Mickey Clubhouse and has watched it for a while now. So, we bent the rules for that show. Tucker LOVES it! It is very colorful and the songs are really cute. I know my nephew watches it too so we figured it couldn't be bad. Then when he was visiting his cousin, Graysen, a couple of weeks ago he had the opportunity to watch a Baby Einstein video...and well, he LOVES those too. So, we caved and he is allowed to watch Mickey and Baby Einstein. Above you will see him sitting in his Bumbo seat watching some TV. It is cute and we don't want to over-reacting about the TV so we compromise with him and he can watch a little... :)
